Jake Rush is a former sheriff’s deputy and an attorney running in the primary against first-term Florida GOP Rep. Ted Yoho. … But in his spare time, Rush also dresses up in costumes and participates in supernatural live-action role-playing games featuring vampires, werewolves, and gothic elements.
Actually, I would vote for this guy. Anyone willing to cosplay and LARP already has two steps up on other candidates. Why? Because that person is creative, willing to break molds a bit, willing to do something out of the ordinary, imaginative, etc. Such a candidate, if elected to Congress, might have more of an open mind to reach for novel solutions to our problems.
Hey, maybe we ought to scour various comic cons and LARPing societies to find Democrats, Republicans, and Independents who would be willing to run for office! Even if they cannot pass laws, they can always throw a mean comic con and entertain us that way! But, I suspect that they would probably pass more and better thought out laws than the current crowd.
