Fr. Obregón and Fr. Orthoduck have been in discussions lately. In one of the recent blog posts, one of the posters was concerned about the amount of political posting by Fr. Obregón. After discussion, the following decision was reached. From now on, all political discussions will be handled by Fr. Orthoduck. Other discussions will be handled by Fr. Obregón. Humor will be handled by either one. This should help those who would like Fr. Obregón to not overdo the politics. On any day that there is a political post by Fr. Orthoduck, then Fr. Obregón will also post a non-political post.
For those of you who do not like political discussions, please skip any political postings by Fr. Orthoduck. If you look right below the title on each posting, you can tell whether Fr. Orthoduck or Fr. Obregón wrote the posting. Simply do not read the political posts by Fr. Orthoduck. Read only the non-political post on that day by Fr. Obregón.
One final note, there are some posts that are non-political but do refer to part of the structure of the USA, such as the series of posts Fr. Obregón did on the Supreme Court and how decisions are reached in law, science, and the Church. That was fully non-political, but did refer to some of the political structures of the USA, but in relation to how the Church makes decisions and why this is a good thing. Those posts will still probably be done by Fr. Obregón.
We hope that this agreement between Fr. Obregón and Fr. Orthoduck will help this blog to maintain both type of postings without offending those who come here for one reason or another.

I am a registered Republican, and member of a denominational protestant church, but I read this blog at least a couple of times a week, because I am interested in hearing how an Orthodox perspective might help me to have a different or better understanding of issues shaped by biblical. I don’t always agree, but I have come to appreciate Fr. Obregon’s integrity when dealing with the scriptures. So, I am sorry that Fr. Obregon is now backing away from political issues altogether, but I look forward to hearing more from Fr. Orthoduck.

As a peace offering to Fr. Orthoduck, I submit this interesting Speaking of Faith program on Niebuhr’s ideas about religion and politics:
