Father Orthoduck heard a most interesting statistic today. In the follow-up to the current scandal from the Republican governor of South Carolina, one of the news stations put together some numbers. OK, so how many national-level political sex scandals have there been since President Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinski?
Well, spread across both parties, the magic number is 23. Twenty-three politicians from both parties have been caught engaging in immorality since the Clinton / Lewinski scandal. The numbers are about evenly divided between both parties, so Father Orthoduck can say that no one party is more immoral than another party. Or, perhaps Father Orthoduck ought to say that no party is more moral than another party. Be aware that these numbers do not include any non-national-level scandals, only the ones involving figures who had a certain level of national standing.
Actually, Father Orthoduck is saddened by those statistics.

Isn’t it handy that sin is so evenly spread. Some things don’t change.
