Last week, Google brought in a herd of goats to mow the grass on its Mountain View, Calif. headquarters rather than using lawnmowers.
The news report goes on to comment that Google has bought 200 goats, and that the price of maintaining the goats is about the same as the price of paying for a maintenance service to do the same job. In addition, the goats, according to Google, will be much more earth-friendly than mowing. Finally, Google comments that the goats are “a lot cuter to watch.”
Fr. Orthoduck is gratified to see that the unemployment rate among goats is decreasing and is very happy with Google’s decision to hire goats. It makes us animals very proud to see some of our own making it in the high-tech industry.
However, Fr. Orthoduck must admit that he has never exactly thought of a goat as cute. But, then, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
