You will notice that there is no post for the first 1/2 hour of the debate between Biden and Palin. That is because I was at a Bible Study. And, yes, I think a local Bible Study is of more significance than a national debate.
Because I missed the beginning, I can only say that I arrived in the midst of the questions. Both of them are speaking well so far. I have seen each one deviate from the question once so far. More interesting to me have been the “analyst scorecards” that CNN has up. They are both extremely distracting but also quite revelatory. Each of the six analysts can score each candidate both plus and minus. Three analysts have seen no negatives whatsoever with Sen. Biden, while only one analyst has seen no negatives with Gov. Palin. My impression upon seeing that is that I can tell something of the political leanings of those four analysts by the fact that they saw no negatives to either one or the other candidate.
As was predicted by some, so far Gov. Palin is speaking clearly and without the “mistakes” that have been published too often on YouTube. This may show that, like Sen. Biden, she is prone to off-the-cuff mistakes, but is better at answering in a formal way.
